Ada

The Ada programming language was released in 1979-1983 by the Department of Defense. The DoD wanted to either develop a new language or use an existing language for the DoD to use. Since they could not find an older language that did everything they needed, the High Language Order Working Group was chartered to develop a language specifically for the DoD. Ada is known as the most powerful language used to date.
