BASIC

BASIC or Beginner's All Purpose Symbolic Instruction Code was developed at Dartmouth College in 1965. It was designed to be an easy language to learn and translate. It was meant to be the stepping stone language for students to learn high level languages. BASIC was the simplest of all languages developed and is still widely used in educational settings.
