When you choose a discussion from the menu on the left, you will see a list of existing topics and comments. We are using Lotus Notes™ to support our discussion databases.
We hope to facilitate numerous dialogues on both general and specific topics. For programming languages, we might try to answer the question: "what can we infer about future programming languges from an analysis and understanding of programming language history?" We also hope that the site will capture, through threaded dialogues, the histories of recent languages such as Visual Basic and Java. On the software engineering side, we might look at the early days of Computer-Aided Software Engineering tools, the software factory paradigm, and/or specific products such as Hewlett Packard's HP SoftBench or Index Technology's Excelerator.
Each topic, programming languages or software engineering, has a number of discussion threads.
