Teaching the History of Computing (Cont.) |
|
In 1989, Professor Tim Bergin of the Computer Science and Information Systems Department at American University started teaching an upper level course CSIS 550, History of Computing. A search of the existing literature resulted in the selection of The History of Computer Technology, by Michael Williams as the course text. Prospective teachers are encouraged to get a copy of this book (or another "intro" book as referenced in the bibliography section) to assist in learning the history of computing as well as to support efforts at constructing a course. This site contains the lectures from this course in PowerPoint format. You can view these lectures (in Adobe pdf format. Click the button below to download Adobe Acrobat. |
