Over the past dozen years I have made numerous things for “show and tell” and collected hundreds of artifacts to be passed around the room.  This part of the site will be expanded during summer 2001.

  1. Napier’s bones can be made from tongue depressors!
  2. Slide rule creation can be demonstrated by using two meter sticks.
  3. A binary adder (after George Stibitz) can be fashioned from two used telephone relays, a battery, a bulb, a little wire, and a switch (which can be made out of a piece of tin can)
  4. Other things to collect:  abacus, mechanical adding machines, parts of old computers, old magazines on computing topics
